Telecommunications Systems Specialist

Job Summary: As a skilled Communications Technician at CaroMont Health, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining telecommunications systems and equipment in a competent and skilled manner. This includes making adds, moves, and changes to the Avaya/Nortel PBX, Call Pilot Voice mail, Avaya Contact Center, and wireless Spectra link phones. You will also be required to operate and maintain installation/service tools and equipment, as well as install, repair, and maintain Rauland Responder Nurse Call systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain telecommunications systems and equipment
- Make adds, moves, and changes to the Avaya/Nortel PBX, Call Pilot Voice mail, Avaya Contact Center, and wireless Spectra link phones
- Operate and maintain installation/service tools and equipment
- Install, repair, and maintain Rauland Responder Nurse Call systems
- Maintain cable TV infrastructure and assist with replacing patient TVs as necessary
- Replace and make changes to pagers as necessary
- Complete installation of systems required for projects as determined by Director
- Provide reports and complete requests for new service
- Determine methodology for installing telephones and telephone service
- Determine appropriateness of moderate equipment changes or modifications necessary to switches, trunks, and other links
- Assist with maintaining EPIC Devices required for successful device integration
Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need an associate's degree or equivalent work experience of at least four years in a Communications-related field. You will also need at least one year of experience in maintaining and repairing communication equipment in a large facility, such as telephones, telephone lines, and accessories. Experience with Call-Pilot voice mail, ACD systems, SIP's, PRI's, Metro E connectivity, audio/visual installation, and broadband systems is also required. You must be reliable and use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of complicated tasks. Availability for on-call/weekend work is also necessary.
Desirable Certifications: Rauland-Borg Nurse call Technician Certification, Spectra link Installer/Maintainer Certification, and Avaya/Nortel support specialist certifications are desirable.
