Position Summary:
The Mortgage Loan Consultant is responsible for processing essential documentation for FHA, VA, and Conventional mortgage applications, ensuring that all necessary packages are prepared for loan approval.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with loan applicants to collect detailed information regarding their credit, employment, and financial backgrounds to facilitate loan approval.
- Gather, assess, and process vital documentation from applicants, credit agencies, employers, and various creditors to verify financial data and credit histories.
- Review and compile accurate loan information promptly to secure necessary loan approvals.
- Engage with applicants, underwriters, and creditors to address any issues or inquiries related to application details.
- Support special projects as needed and undertake additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A high school diploma is required, complemented by at least one year of relevant coursework, including seminars and workshops, along with two to three years of related experience and/or training. A foundational understanding of loan processing and underwriting principles is essential.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong customer service orientation with effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with diverse individuals.
- Ability to extract, interpret, analyze, and evaluate information in accordance with underwriting guidelines and lender requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in general administrative tasks, including typing, filing, and the use of computers, calculators, copiers, and fax machines.
Work Environment:
Occasional weekend work may be necessary.
