Capital Public Radio is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Music Programming Coordinator within our Programming Department. This position involves collaborating closely with the Music Director to oversee music selection and metadata management, ensuring an enriching experience for our audience at a prominent non-commercial classical music station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the music database with precision
  • Identify and rectify any gaps in the music library's information
  • Digitize and incorporate new music tracks on a daily basis
  • Conduct basic audio editing on the tracks being imported
  • Assist with light reception tasks as needed

Additional Responsibilities

  • Input playlist details for various programs using PadLive
  • Oversee the station's social media presence and schedule content
  • Contribute to other marketing initiatives as required
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by management

Essential Qualifications

  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly regarding data accuracy
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Experience in data entry and database oversight
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Solid understanding of classical music styles, composers, and compositions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with audio editing tools such as Adobe Audition
  • Knowledge of popular social media platforms

This is a full-time, on-site position that requires regular engagement with the public and the management of an extensive music library featuring over 10,000 recordings.
