Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public child welfare, with experience in training and curriculum development. The Trainer will be responsible for reviewing child welfare curriculum content for relevance and eligibility for Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) Continuing Education Unit (CEU) accreditation, as well as writing curriculum relevant to public child welfare.

Responsibilities
  • Train topics relevant to public child welfare to LA County DCFS social workers and other DCFS staff
  • Review child welfare curriculum content for relevance and eligibility for BBS CEU accreditation
  • Write curriculum relevant to public child welfare
  • Develop and implement training programs for DCFS staff
  • Collaborate with the Training Director to develop and implement training programs
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work or a related field
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) upon hire
  • 3-5 years of experience in child welfare setting
  • 3-5 years of training and 1-2 years of curriculum development experience
  • Strong interpersonal, teaming, and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and ability to apply it in training delivery
  • Excellent communication, presentation, engagement, and facilitation skills
Working Conditions

This position requires a strong working knowledge and/or expertise in child welfare and training (live and virtual) experience. The Trainer will work closely with the Training Director and other team members to develop and implement training programs.
