Key Responsibilities:
The primary goal of the Event Support Specialist is to assist the event team in executing catering functions effectively.
This role involves ensuring that events are arranged according to specifications and providing necessary support to the event staff.
In this position, you will be expected to demonstrate leadership qualities while managing the banquet operations in alignment with the company's mission and values.
Main Duties Include:
1. Welcome and engage with guests in a warm and professional manner, adhering to company standards.
2. Manage the telephone system, ensuring prompt and courteous responses to inquiries.
3. Uphold guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.
4. Maintain knowledge of menu offerings and event details.
5. Set up event spaces, including tables, chairs, and audio-visual equipment, according to event requirements.
6. Prepare tables with linens, glassware, and utensils.
7. Ensure cleanliness of banquet areas, including vacuuming and dusting as necessary.
8. Assist in the breakdown of events and food service stations.
9. Serve food and beverages in a friendly and efficient manner.
10. Complete opening and closing tasks, ensuring a tidy work environment.
11. Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a professional appearance.
12. Foster positive relationships with team members to achieve collective goals.
13. Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
14. Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:
1. Knowledge of customer service principles and food service techniques.
2. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a calm demeanor.
3. Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
5. High school diploma or equivalent experience.
6. Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a similar role.
7. Experience in a luxury service environment is preferred.
Work Environment:
This position requires working in a dynamic environment with frequent interactions and changing priorities. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to meet business needs.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs, standing for extended periods, and navigating various workspaces.
