Role Summary
As a Global Procurement Category Leader, you will collaborate with various teams to formulate and execute global procurement strategies for the Indirect Procurement Facilities and MRO categories. Your role will encompass both conventional and innovative supplier procurement initiatives, ensuring timely delivery while focusing on global solutions that enhance services and minimize costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the supplier procurement process and negotiations aligned with business needs and cost objectives, optimizing the company's negotiation leverage.
- Direct supplier contracting negotiations and implementation, working closely with corporate legal for the escalation of specific risk-related terms.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with internal stakeholders to boost engagement and develop a strong procurement project pipeline.
- Ensure alignment for each procurement project and drive collaborative efforts with necessary cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, Risk Management, HR, Compliance, Legal, Real Estate) to enhance transactional efficiency and mitigate risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to comprehend their current services and additional capabilities for the company.
- Acquire a thorough understanding of business and functional strategic roadmaps and corresponding business requirements for assigned categories.
- Drive cost reduction targets for the supply management organization; calculate and report savings effectively.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise agreements.
- Assist in resolving key supplier issues and mitigating risks as necessary.
- Maintain an extensive knowledge of the marketplace, benchmarks, and industry best practices for assigned categories.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited institution is required.
- An advanced degree in business, finance, or legal fields is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Significant experience in negotiations is essential.
- Experience in operations and procurement is necessary.
- Prior experience in contracting (negotiation, implementation, management of agreements) is required.
- Extensive project management experience and/or PMP certification is preferred.
- Operational and/or procurement experience in most, if not all, of the assigned Indirect Corporate Services Categories is strongly preferred.
