Job Summary

This position contributes to Sun Tan City's success by leading a team to create and maintain the Sun Tan City Experience for our clients. The Salon Director is required to regularly exercise discretion in managing the overall operation of the salon.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and coach employees to provide exceptional client experiences.
  • Follow up swiftly on client concerns and issues.
  • Consistently set a positive example and demonstrate a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.
  • Display a client-centric attitude by holding team members accountable for quality client service.
  • Drive company metrics by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the salon team.
  • Manage with integrity and honesty, promoting the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City.
  • Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate responsibilities to team members to ensure smooth flow of operations.
  • Directly responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation, and organization of the salon.
  • Manage salon staffing levels to ensure employee development and maintain salon operational requirements.
  • Adhere to applicable wage and hour laws for non-exempt team members and minors.
  • Utilize operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the salon.
  • Regularly conduct performance assessments, providing feedback and setting challenging goals to improve sales performance.
  • Manage ongoing sales.
Requirements:
  • College education preferred, but not required.
  • Management and/or sales experience required.
  • Basic computer skills (ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of client service techniques and operational practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational/planning skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor while having knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
  • Team building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend at the waist to clean tanning equipment.
  • Ability to lift or assist in lifting items and heavy boxes.
  • Ability to bend down to pick up trash, towels, etc. from the floors.
  • Ability to perform salon cleaning functions including dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, etc.
