Job Description

Cape Fear Community College is seeking a highly qualified Department Chair and Program Manager for the Business Technology department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the department's academic programs, overseeing faculty and staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality education to students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and management to the Business Technology department, including developing and implementing departmental goals and objectives.
  • Faculty and Staff Supervision: Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality education.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement academic programs, including curriculum design, course scheduling, and program assessment.
  • Student Support: Provide support to students, including academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance.
  • Community Engagement: Foster partnerships with industry partners, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance the college's reputation and provide opportunities for students.
  • Budgeting and Resource Management: Manage departmental budgets and resources, ensuring effective use of college funds.
Requirements:
  • Education: Master's degree in a related field, such as Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least three years of experience in a leadership or management role in a post-secondary educational setting.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with diverse groups, and experience with budgeting and resource management.
