We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Simulation Lab Coordinator/Clinical Instructor to join our team at Keuka College. As a key member of our faculty staff, you will play a vital role in organizing and scheduling simulation/lab activities, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary departments to ensure efficient use of the simulation lab.
Key Responsibilities- Implement, update, and monitor nursing simulation lab policies, procedures, and equipment use.
- Collaborate with faculty to provide consistent and relevant student learning experiences in the lab environment.
- Participate in creating, prepping, documenting, and updating simulated patient experiences.
- Maintain and operate the nursing simulation lab, including troubleshooting and working with IT personnel.
- Assist faculty with skills and simulation activities, and establish and revise critical elements for performing clinical skills.
- Provide input for budget preparation regarding equipment, supplies, and materials for simulation and basic nursing lab.
- Comply with OSHA regulations and perform inspections relating to storage and disposal of sensitive materials and equipment.
- Supervise and evaluate undergraduate students in clinical practice, observations, simulation experiences, and other similar course and graduation requirements.
- Accurately complete students' clinical performance documents and submit all weekly, midterm, and final documentation.
- Counsel or refer students with identified clinical performance problems.
- Create an environment conducive to learning and actively engage students.
- Correlate clinical education with didactic education.
- Provide educational opportunities that benefit students throughout the learning process.
- Incorporate principles of learning in the planning and implementation of clinical instruction.
- Coordinate with clinicians at the clinical site to make student patient assignments.
- Masters in Nursing required.
- Current unencumbered license as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Recent experience in the simulation/lab environment with excellent clinical skills.
- Excellent planning, communication, scheduling, and organizational skills.
- Teaching and student support experience.
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff, and the public.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
