Position Overview

Fairview Health Services is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in ensuring that our facilities maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and standards to ensure compliance.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Conduct daily cleaning of patient rooms to uphold a sanitary atmosphere.
  • Prepare areas for patient discharge and surgical procedures, ensuring thorough end-of-day cleaning.
  • Maintain cleanliness in various spaces, including hard surfaces, carpets, offices, and public areas, while managing waste disposal effectively.
  • Respond promptly to spills and breakages to mitigate safety hazards.
  • Complete special assignments as directed by supervisors, ensuring adherence to departmental quality standards.
  • Understand and comply with security protocols related to medications and IV solutions.
  • Restock necessary supplies and manage linen distribution to support patient care.
  • Utilize cleaning supplies and equipment efficiently to promote safety and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Minimum age of 16 years.
Preferred Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to lift and transport moderate to heavy items.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Basic understanding of safety and sanitation protocols.
