Job Summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to play a key role in growing our business in the mining sector. As a senior leader, you will be accountable for successfully selling and consulting on a range of environmental, social, and health impact assessment projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Business Development: Develop and implement strategic business/action plan, provide leadership, and deliver performance results to expand our capital project delivery service offerings and client base in the mining industry.
  2. Sales and Marketing: Contribute to business development of ERM's global capital project service area. Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take an active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients.
  3. Project Management: Serve as senior resource for environmental and social impact assessment projects and related activities in support of ERM clients' capital projects (i.e., mining, diversified energy, power, electrical transmission, renewable energy projects). Contribute to preparing EAs/EIS / ESIAs and associated management plans, serving in roles ranging from lead technical expert to QA/QC.
  4. Team Leadership: Lead, manage performance, hire and retain, inspire and mentor personnel for overall success of the technical team.
  5. Client Relationships: Capitalize on existing ERM client relationships to expand ERM's profile and market share (through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development). Work with other ERM resources to deepen relationships with ERM key clients and establish new client relationships that result in significant net revenue growth.
  6. Global Collaboration: Support the general growth and development of ERM's international technical community. Collaborate with other ERM global practitioners to execute impact assessment projects. Participate on teams comprised of impact assessment professionals from multiple offices around the global ERM organization.
Requirements
  1. Education: BS/MS in environmental studies, planning, geography, civil or environmental engineering or related field; PE, PG, CEP, AICP or similar registration desired.
  2. Experience: 8+ years of consulting experience with impact assessment and multi-media permitting, particularly on international projects.
  3. Business Acumen: Proven track record in developing and implementing successful business growth strategies in the energy industry.
  4. Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, and book sales.
  5. Industry Knowledge: Established relationships with mining companies.
  6. Technical Expertise: Solid grasp of the key impact assessment and management issues within the mining sector, as well as a high degree of technical competence and broad knowledge of impact assessment best practices.
  7. Leadership Skills: Recognized technical expertise by and established reputation in the marketplace, including positive reputation with key regulators relevant to impact assessment approvals.
  8. Personal Qualities: Well-developed teambuilding and influencing skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life & disability insurance to benefits eligible employees. The annual base pay for this position is $110,451 – $126,351, and may be eligible for bonus pay.
