About the Role

As a Public Safety Officer at Parkview Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff. This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a strong commitment to customer service and a passion for creating a safe and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physical security for all Parkview owned buildings, equipment, and grounds.
  • Administer non-professional services to assist patients and their families, creating a safe and welcoming campus environment.
  • Enhance the patient experience by taking proactive steps to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Perform general safety and security duties, including foot and vehicle patrol, escort functions, and data collection for incident reports.
  • Assist the Samaritan Crew and air crews from other medical services in unloading patients brought to Parkview via helicopter.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all customers, both internal and external, in a cheerful, respectful, and cordial manner.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required; current CPR certification and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention program certification within six months of hire.
  • No prior experience required, but prior Security Officer, Police, or Military Police experience is preferred.
  • Computer literacy and excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to handle disoriented, disruptive, or combative individuals; must be physically able to lift, push/pull 70 LBS.
  • Must possess 20/40 vision with both eyes and be able to work independently using critical thinking skills.
