Job Overview

Position Summary

The Operations Supervisor will work closely with the Studio Director and/or Vice President to manage the formulation and execution of documentation and constructability guidelines. This position entails performing quality assurance and quality control evaluations, ensuring adherence to established protocols, and overseeing project-specific particulars.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Studio Director and/or Vice President to create and uphold documentation and constructability guidelines.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control evaluations for various project categories, ensuring adherence to standards and examining project-specific particulars.
  • Communicate evaluation results to project teams.
  • Engage with project teams regarding project specifics, bidding concerns, and overall document coordination and clarity.
  • Participate in meetings and site visits with the construction department to review lessons learned and apply findings within the Architectural Division.
  • Identify and address recurring issues with shop drawings and RFIs, proposing enhancements to documentation and constructability guidelines.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to team members as necessary.
  • Take part in project meetings focused on constructability challenges and collaborate with municipalities, subcontractors, or engineers to resolve discrepancies with company standards.
  • Assist in the creation of project specifications and contribute to the development of office specification standards.
  • Maintain a repository of material resource documents.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong team-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-driven, organized, and an effective communicator.
  • High level of attention to detail in managing projects and personnel to ensure timely completion.
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, with a solid understanding of their integration with contract documents; advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and Bluebeam.
  • Familiarity with local zoning, building codes, energy codes, ADA regulations, and construction practices.
  • Adept at reviewing comprehensive construction documents, identifying challenges, and coordinating solutions with the team and jurisdiction to obtain construction permits.
  • Capable of maintaining project processes and communication with adjacent departments.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing processes and protocols, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, construction teams, estimators, jurisdictions, and consultants.
