In this position, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the organization’s inventory system, ensuring precision, promptness, and effectiveness in inventory and warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitating the loading and unloading of shipments.
- Assessing incoming deliveries for any visible damages and notifying the purchasing administrator.
- Returning defective or damaged goods to suppliers.
- Building and sustaining positive relationships with vendors.
- Keeping precise daily logs of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Administering and updating the inventory system; assisting with upgrades to related databases and/or software under the guidance of the purchasing administrator.
- Ensuring safety protocols while operating equipment and tools.
- Utilizing forklifts and other heavy machinery as required.
- Managing warehouse workflow efficiently.
- Overseeing the warehouse safety program.
- Conducting inventory counts and resolving any discrepancies.
- Monitoring stock levels and identifying reorder points.
- Collaborating with purchasing and warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Implementing and upholding inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Identifying and addressing inventory-related challenges and executing corrective measures.
- Restocking all purchased items, including kitchen and office supplies.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the grounds.
- Performing other related tasks as assigned.
- Prior experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar capacity.
- Proficient in inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with inventory control best practices and procedures.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items as necessary and stand for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management/Logistics or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role is required.
- Experience with computerized inventory systems is essential.
- Forklift operator certification is mandatory.
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Extended periods of standing and being on your feet.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor work as necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
- Capability to navigate the warehouse and reach items at various heights.
