As a key member of our team, you will support our efforts to promote equity and justice in the West Coast Trawl Catch Share Program (WCTCSP).

Key Responsibilities
The Research Associate will be responsible for:
  • Conducting research and analysis to identify opportunities for quota set-asides to meet Environmental Justice (EEJ) objectives.
  • Engaging with NOAA Fisheries staff and underserved communities across the West Coast.
  • Developing materials for outreach and education related to EEJ efforts.
  • Analyzing data and feedback received to inform our drafting of future revisions to the regional implementation plan.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
  • A Master's or Doctorate degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Policy, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in fisheries policy analysis and/or equity and environmental justice research.
  • Demonstrated ability to author peer-reviewed publications and give oral presentations.
  • Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.

Estimated Salary: $77,800 - $100,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off. Location/Note: Seattle, WA. On-site location at the NWFSC (2725 Montlake Blvd E, Seattle, WA 98112) is preferred. Remote / Telework from a location in California, Oregon, or Washington State may also be considered.
