Job Overview

The World Aquaculture Society is committed to advancing the sustainable development of aquaculture. We are seeking an experienced Marine Biologist with a background in data analysis to join our team as a Research Scientist. This role will focus on analyzing and interpreting complex datasets related to coral ecology, providing valuable insights for research initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret large datasets generated from research activities, utilizing statistical and bioinformatics tools to uncover patterns and relationships that inform research questions.
  • Develop and implement effective data visualization techniques to support findings and collaborate with other team members to validate and interpret results within the context of ongoing research.
  • Manage and maintain large datasets, ensuring data accuracy, implementing data storage solutions, and managing data access in compliance with institutional guidelines.
  • Draft, revise, and finalize scientific manuscripts, grant proposals, and technical reports, translating complex research findings into accessible language for diverse audiences.

Requirements

We require a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology and four years of experience in experimental studies on coral early life stages, interdisciplinary collaboration, and publishing; OR equivalent combination of education/experience.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year.
