Job Description
This role involves conducting compensation and pension exams for Veterans who have suffered traumatic brain injuries. You will work closely with medical professionals to assess motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, and combat exposure. Your comprehensive exams will help determine disability awards for deserving Veterans. In addition to conducting exams, you will also complete electronic documentation and submit it promptly within 48 hours of each appointment. Diagnostic testing may include MoCA testing, if clinically indicated, and neuropsychological testing. Any neuropsychological testing will be referred to a neuropsychologist.
Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess basic computer skills. Prior experience in Compensation & Pension Exams (C&P) is preferred but not required. Module training is provided to support your growth and development. A Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree, specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitations (PM&R) or Neurology, with experience in evaluating for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is mandatory. A valid medical license and Board Certification/Board Eligibility (BC/BE) in your specialty are also required.
