About the Role:

The Financial Planning & Analytics (FP&A) Manager will play a vital role within Rhythm Energy's finance department, utilizing strong analytical capabilities and a proactive approach to enhance the organization's financial planning, reporting, cash management, and decision-making processes. This position will significantly influence Rhythm's strategic trajectory by delivering insights and recommendations derived from financial data and market analysis. The FP&A Manager serves as a crucial link between the finance team and business leaders, providing reciprocal analysis and insights to foster efficiency and execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Spearhead the creation of financial models and forecasts, assessing business performance and pinpointing essential growth and profitability drivers.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Develop and refine reporting capabilities from the ground up, crafting dynamic tools to monitor business metrics on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with business leaders to formulate comprehensive budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and strategies.
  • Decision Support: Offer actionable insights and recommendations to the CFO and other executive leaders, emphasizing the implications of financial data and analysis.
  • Capital & Cash Management: Partner closely with treasury to optimize capital allocation, forecast and manage liquidity, and ensure effective fund utilization, including the management of existing credit facilities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Interact with external stakeholders, such as auditors, lenders, and investors, to guarantee precise financial reporting and compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function and the broader finance team.
  • Leadership & Development: Act as a resourceful leader, mentoring junior team members and nurturing a culture of curiosity, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Over 7 years of experience in finance roles, with a minimum of 3 years in FP&A (experience in the retail energy sector is preferred).
  • Background: A solid foundation in accounting or auditing is highly desirable, with a proven history of managing external stakeholders. Experience with commodity hedging and mark-to-market reporting is valued.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker.
  • Reporting Expertise: Proven experience in establishing financial reporting capabilities from scratch, focusing on automation and scalability.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to convert complex financial concepts into actionable business strategies, concentrating on driving growth and profitability.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership and external partners.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA/CPA preferred).
