We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams and assisting radiologists with invasive procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, including abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN, breast, abdominal duplex, musculoskeletal, CEUS, and pediatric sonography.
- Assist radiologists with invasive procedures such as biopsies, injections, and aspirations.
- Comply with departmental protocols under indirect supervision of the attending radiologist and departmental supervisor.
- Properly operate and care for equipment, provide quality care to patients, and use electronic medical records and reporting systems.
- Work closely with radiologists to perform exams and assist in training of resident physicians, fellows, and students.
- Maintain CPR certification, CME credits, and active ARDMS certification.
- Completion of a twelve (12) month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
- RDMS registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
This is a part-time position with a standard schedule of 24 hours per week. The salary range is $40.09 per hour. The work assignment type is onsite, and the location is UNC Medical Center.
