Position Overview:
This role is officially designated as Field Services Representative.
Service Area:
Lafayette, LA
Job Responsibilities:
The Field Adjuster will operate from a home office within the designated service area. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough field investigations of insurance claims.
- Visiting insured properties to assess damages and document findings.
- Estimating repair costs and preparing detailed reports utilizing Xactimate software.
Core Duties:
- Reviewing case reserves for all assigned claims to ensure adequate coverage.
- Drafting comprehensive reports on investigations, coverage, and damages.
- Negotiating and settling claims within designated authority limits.
- Exploring subrogation opportunities and collaborating with legal representatives.
- Maintaining organized and accurate claim files.
- Communicating effectively with policyholders, public adjusters, and attorneys.
Essential Functions:
- Traveling to various locations within the service area.
- Performing inspections that may require climbing ladders and accessing rooftops.
- Conducting investigations in confined spaces.
- Handling physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in property adjusting, covering both personal and commercial lines.
- Possession of an All Lines Adjuster License for the assigned territory.
- Proficiency in Xactware products and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
- Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations and negotiate resolutions.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
