Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Thoracic Surgeon to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. This individual will lead thoracic clinical practices, attend thoracic surgery consults, and establish a chest multidisciplinary conference.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a team of residents and mid-level providers in both inpatient and ambulatory thoracic clinical practices
  • Attend all thoracic surgery consults in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Establish and direct or co-direct a chest multidisciplinary conference as a working and teaching conference with a lung cancer screening program
  • Pursue aggressive growth in chest surgery cases (thoracic)
Requirements:
  • Board certification, or board eligibility, in Thoracic Surgery
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Board certification in Surgery
  • Training in VATS and robotic-assisted thoracic surgery
  • Experience with esophageal/foregut cases including robotic-assisted surgery
Benefits and Compensation

The annual base salary for this position is $404,000, based on a 40-hour work week. The total compensation package includes an estimated annual value of $534,020, which includes additional benefits such as bonus potential, 401(k) contribution, CME reimbursement, and generous PTO.

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week: $55,520
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000, contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets
  • 401(k) Company Contribution: employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings, with an additional 7% company contribution after one year of service
