Position Overview:

Lead an integrated circuit failure analysis (FA) laboratory, delivering root-cause investigations, production material validation, and process development insights in a continuous manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all facets of establishing and maintaining a dedicated team of five technicians and one engineer.
  • Drive continuous enhancement of Key Performance Indicators related to lab efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and sustain a collaborative third-party failure analysis network.
  • Guide and mentor team members.
  • Engage with external clients and auditors.
  • Identify, prioritize, and champion Continuous Improvement initiatives within the lab.
  • Manage the FA budget, capital resources, and staffing levels.
  • Act as the FA representative for various concurrent site and corporate task forces, including automotive quality, new product development, and foundry transition projects.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Time allocations for job responsibilities are estimates and may vary for each role.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Materials Science or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience, or 6+ years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail. Capable of managing complex, multifaceted challenges using diverse problem-solving methodologies.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal communication skills, with the capacity to interact effectively and persuasively with clients and team members at all organizational levels, demonstrating sound judgment in analysis methods and communication of findings.
  • Strong project management skills with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work in a dynamic environment. Exhibits a proactive and persistent approach, demonstrating urgency in addressing issues.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines while balancing the demands of multiple projects and clients.
  • Willingness to collaborate regularly with night shift technicians.
Licenses/Certificates:
  • Must be willing and able to obtain security clearance (potentially Top Secret).
  • Technology/Equipment:
  • Proficient in computer skills, with experience in MS Office software (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint).
U.S. Citizenship Required: This position necessitates the ability to obtain government security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor failure analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on laboratory experience with analytical and mechanical testing equipment, including but not limited to: Scanning Electron Microscopy, Optical Microscopy, and semiconductor de-processing.
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and device physics.
  • Prior experience in laboratory management.
