Job Title: Associate Manager of Internal Audit

Legend Biotech US is seeking a highly skilled Associate Manager of Internal Audit to join our Finance team in Somerset, New Jersey. As a key member of our Internal Audit department, you will be responsible for leading a broad range of Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) control testing and internal audits, including financial, operational, compliance, technology audits, and special projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage audit risk assessment and develop a risk-based audit program through planning and scoping.
  • Lead the audit lifecycle from planning to reporting, ensuring compliant, effective, and efficient processes and controls are in place.
  • Interview key process owners to assess business processes and control environments.
  • Leverage data analysis in risk assessment and execution of audits.
  • Execute and manage testing procedures addressing high-risk areas in scope, in accordance with Legend Internal Audit and IIA Standards.
  • Identify control gaps, improvement opportunities, and value-added recommendations to strengthen and improve the control environment.
  • Evaluate the risk and potential business impact of identified deficiencies.
  • Document audit workpapers with reperformance standards, including test attributes, associated risks, test conclusions, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Align audit findings with process owners and operationalize remediation plans.
  • Perform and document walkthroughs and tests of controls to evaluate the effectiveness of the Company's SOX 404 program.
  • Track identified audit deficiencies/observations and ensure completion of audit remediations.
  • Collaborate with and educate process owners on the importance of maintaining strong controls.
  • Build strong relationships with business functions and act as a trusted business partner, providing expert insights in operational audits and SOX audits.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university required.
  • Masters, MBA, or CPA, CIA, CISA, CISM strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in auditing (combination of internal and/or external).
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) required.
  • Experience with operational audits preferred.
  • Experience in Public Accounting required.
  • Experience in the industries of pharmaceutical, life science, biotech strongly preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Experience with risk assessment, data analytics tools (Galvanize/Diligent and ACL) preferred.
  • Excel/Word/PowerPoint capability required.
  • Ability to work independently, objectively, and collaboratively in a fast-paced and matrixed team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadline requirements without compromising quality of deliverables.
  • Ability to learn new areas quickly and take ownership to execute projects.
  • Ability to articulate issues and remediations clearly and concisely, supported by factual details, both written and verbal, to different levels of management.
  • Process-oriented and control-driven with strong analytical skills for analyzing controls, identifying risks, and assessing their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP & IFRS and IIA standards required.
