Key Responsibilities

  • Design, Implement, and Manage the Local HSE System
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive HSE management system that meets DSM-Firmenich standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Investigate injuries, illnesses, and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Understand Site Operations and Risks
    • Conduct regular site audits to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
    • Collaborate with maintenance technicians and production teams to develop and update maintenance strategies.
  • Develop and Oversee a Risk-Based HSE Audit Program
    • Design and implement a risk-based audit program to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
    • Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and develop corrective actions.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Planning and Capital Projects
    • Develop and manage maintenance plans to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
    • Coordinate capital projects, including preparing requests and soliciting bids.
  • Maintain Records and Oversee Facility Maintenance
    • Maintain accurate records of permits, certifications, and equipment calibration.
    • Oversee facility and grounds maintenance, including responding to repair needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience working with regulatory agencies and industrial risks assessment
  • 3-5 years' experience in a chemical manufacturing environment and chemical process safety
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with root cause and risk assessment methodologies
