Cardiovascular Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in the operation of the catheterization laboratory, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Operate monitoring and recording devices under physician direction to obtain necessary medical data and ensure patient safety.
- Operate Radiographic fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images of coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease.
- Order equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Turn on all the radiographic equipment in the AM.
- Assist nurse in checking patient in.
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Associate degree in health sciences or related field.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire.
- Bachelor's degree in biology, anatomy, physiology, or related field.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist in the state of practice AND registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
- Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to move throughout and between facilities.
Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity.
Must be able to work flexible schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).
Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.
Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
