Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Float RN is expected to adapt to various inpatient acute care units and quickly establish rapport with patients, colleagues, and physicians. This nursing role involves delivering a broad range of professional nursing services focused on providing quality patient care in alignment with Franciscan Health System (FHS) standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and the nursing profession's scope of practice. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and patients/families.

The incumbent will engage in direct patient care, which encompasses assessing, planning, coordinating, evaluating, and delegating tasks to members of the patient care team. Additionally, the RN will provide education and consultation to patients, families, physicians, and other staff members to implement appropriate nursing interventions for optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; a BSN degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 months of previous RN experience is required.
  • One year of relevant experience in an emergency department or critical care setting is preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS certification (with a one-month grace period if expired).
  • Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification within twelve months of hire; certification must be maintained thereafter.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within twelve months of hire; certification(s) must be maintained thereafter.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and/or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification is preferred.
  • CCRN/Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) certification is preferred.
