F-35 Aircraft Maintenance Expeditor Job Description

This position is part of the Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) team supporting the F-35 aircraft maintenance operation at NAS Fallon, Nevada. The successful candidate will use advanced aircraft management tools to track aircraft history, maintenance, engine data, and other critical information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Aircraft Maintenance Coordination: Use data to project future maintenance events and perform scheduling, inspection tracking, and coordination of outside support.
  • Flight Scheduling: Plan and develop current flight schedules to ensure efficient service and optimal use of aircraft and resources.
  • Communication and Coordination: Coordinate with Maintenance Manager on schedules, aircraft status, and issues as they occur.
  • Training and Development: Provide On-The-Job training to government and partner personnel on aircraft maintenance.
  • Task Assignment and Execution: Coordinate with Aircraft Maintenance Manager on work schedules and task assignments.
  • Aircraft Status Monitoring: Assist the Operations Analyst with monitoring aircraft status and requesting base support.
  • TCTD Execution: Coordinate TCTD execution with Aircraft Maintenance Managers and ensure maintenance actions are completed on time.
  • Physical Requirements: Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess at least an Interim Secret Security Clearance and be able to obtain/maintain a Final Secret clearance.
Requirements:
  • Aircraft Maintenance Experience: 8 years of aircraft maintenance experience in flight line operations as a 7-skill level USAF AFSC, Navy NEC, or USMC MOS aircraft maintenance discipline or equivalent civilian aircraft maintenance experience.
  • F-35 Experience: Must include 2 years of F-35 or F-22 (Fifth Generation) aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Program Experience: Experience with programs such as Aircraft Scheduling, Aircraft Records Management, Maintenance Control, Aircraft Configuration Control, Maintenance Information System, Tool and FOD, Training, Safety, Security, Hazardous Waste Management, or Supply Chain Management.
Desired Skills:
  • U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Marine Corps Aircraft Maintenance Experience: U.S Air Force, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Marine Corps aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Fighter Aircraft Systems and Operations: Thorough understanding of Fighter Aircraft Systems and Operations.
  • ALIS or IMIS Experience: Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) or Integrated Information System (IMIS) experience.
  • PMA Activities: Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA) activities such as aircraft forms documentation.
  • U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Marine Corps Maintenance Practices Experience: Understanding of U.S Air Force, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Marine Corps Maintenance Practices Experience as a Maintenance Controller, Aircraft Production Supervisor, and/or Aircraft Flightline Expediter highly desirable.
  • USAFAFI or NAMP 4790: Knowledge and understanding of USAF AFI or NAMP 4790.
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communications Skills: Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Knowledgeable of Safety, Tool Control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Supply, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), Training Management System (TMS), Quality, or Security Programs: Knowledgeable of Safety, Tool Control, Foreign Object damage (FOD), Supply, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), Training Management System (TMS), Quality, or Security programs.
  • Experience Developing Work Schedules for Employees: Experience developing work schedules for employees.
