Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the installation, preventive upkeep, and repair of manufacturing machinery, including CNC equipment, filtration systems, and monitoring of fluid levels and coolant concentrations. This role also encompasses general facility maintenance tasks such as electrical work, lighting, plumbing, and fixture repairs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all production machinery, including injection molding presses and forklifts.
  • Adjust and operate controls for injection molding machines.
  • Perform maintenance on internal and external building systems, including lighting, plumbing, and air compressors.
  • Manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring availability for repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines and various metalworking equipment.
  • Install and maintain computer cabling systems.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or defective equipment to management.
  • Drive company vehicles as required.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to protect oneself and others.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager with daily operational tasks.
  • Utilize six-sigma quality tools to enhance processes and outcomes.
  • Maintain and support established processes, procedures, and key performance indicators relevant to the role.
  • Review and complete all required training as outlined in the training matrix.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Exhibit regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

ITAR COMPLIANCE:

Applicants must meet U.S. export control regulations and be eligible for necessary authorizations.

SKILLS:

  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Self-driven and motivated.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Strong attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Capable of following both written and verbal instructions.
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and soldering practices.
  • Physically fit to perform job duties without fear of heights.
  • Possess a valid, clean driver's license.
  • Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, heating, and air conditioning systems.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical hand tools.
  • Must have basic hand tools available for use.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position requires exposure to manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment is mandatory.
  • Typical working conditions include standard ambient temperatures and lighting found in manufacturing settings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit or stand as necessary.
  • Walking primarily on level surfaces throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder height and below waist as needed.
  • Proper lifting techniques are essential.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
