Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance & Repair Technician is responsible for the installation, preventive upkeep, and repair of manufacturing machinery, including CNC equipment, filtration systems, and monitoring of fluid levels and coolant concentrations. This role also encompasses general facility maintenance, addressing electrical, plumbing, lighting, and fixture needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all production machinery, including injection molding presses and ancillary equipment.
  • Adjust and operate controls on injection molding machines.
  • Perform internal and external maintenance tasks such as lighting repairs, plumbing, and painting.
  • Manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring timely ordering of necessary components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines, forklifts, and various metalworking tools, including CNC equipment.
  • Install and maintain computer cabling systems.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or defective equipment to the supervisor.
  • Drive company vehicles as required.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while performing all duties.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager with daily operational tasks.
  • Utilize six-sigma quality tools to analyze and improve processes.
  • Maintain and support processes, procedures, and key performance indicators relevant to the position.
  • Complete all required training as outlined in the training matrix.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Exhibit regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Able to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and soldering practices.
  • Physically capable of performing job duties, including working at heights.
  • Possess a valid, clean driver's license.
  • Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, heating, and air conditioning systems.
  • Flexibility in work schedule is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hand tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers.
  • Must have personal basic hand tools available for use.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position requires exposure to manufacturing areas, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and steel-toed shoes.
  • Work conditions typically involve standard ambient temperatures and lighting associated with manufacturing operations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit or stand as necessary.
  • Frequent walking on level surfaces throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder height and below waist as needed.
  • Proper lifting techniques are required.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
