Position Overview

Key Qualifications:

A parent or caregiver with lived experience in navigating behavioral health challenges. A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with bilingual skills preferred. Certification as a Peer Specialist is mandatory.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in outreach and provide assistance to all families involved with the CCBHC throughout their journey, from initial contact to program completion.
  • Collaborate with parents and legal guardians to advocate for their needs, facilitate care planning, and foster effective engagement through a strengths-based approach.
  • Deliver psychoeducation and skill development; contribute to the planning and execution of home visits.
  • Foster community among families by organizing group meetings and activities for mutual support.
  • Facilitate warm referrals to community resources and support services.
  • Actively participate as a vital member of the CCBHC multidisciplinary team, contributing to family care planning and collaboration.
  • Carry out essential accountability tasks, including the compilation and maintenance of necessary documentation.
  • Assist administrative personnel in gathering information to assess program effectiveness.
  • Engage in clinical supervision actively.
  • Respond positively and respectfully to diverse backgrounds.
  • Participate in all training sessions related to the Whole Family Health Model.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with peer-based practices.
  • Ability to connect with individuals experiencing mental health or substance use challenges.
  • Understanding of mental health, physical wellness, stress management, and local resources that enhance health and well-being.
  • Serve as a welcoming, guiding, and empowering representative of the program.
  • Exemplify a strength-based, family-centered approach.
  • Commit to ongoing training to enhance competencies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
