Position Summary: Fitch is seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst to join the Industrials & Transportation team within the Corporate Finance group.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Possesses knowledge or a strong interest in the Industrials and Transportation sectors, including Aerospace & Defense, Diversified Manufacturing, Capital Goods, Autos, Airlines, Logistics, and General Industrials.
  • Holds a professional background in capital markets, credit, financial, or strategic analysis, with a solid grasp of financial statements.
  • Aims to enhance their understanding of debt capital markets.
  • Exhibits strong teamwork skills and the ability to engage proactively with various stakeholders.
  • Aspires to build a reputation as a credit expert and industry authority.
  • Enjoys critical thinking and articulating well-reasoned opinions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quantitative analyses, including comprehensive financial forecasting, comparable analysis, and bankruptcy evaluations.
  • Perform qualitative assessments focusing on business models, competitive advantages, management strategies, industry dynamics, and regulatory factors.
  • Support lead analysts in formulating credit rating recommendations through extensive research and financial modeling.
  • Monitor and evaluate a small portfolio of companies, presenting analyses and recommendations to credit committees.
  • Assist in maintaining Fitch's financial database.
  • Engage with executive-level management teams in the Industrials and Transportation sectors to deepen industry understanding.
  • Contribute to research publications for the team and Fitch's Leveraged Finance initiative.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree; an MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.
  • CFA candidate preferred; CFA/CPA designation is a plus.
  • 1-2+ years of relevant experience, with knowledge of the Industrials and Transportation sectors being beneficial.
  • Experience in capital markets and/or credit analysis is a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Able to manage multiple projects as priorities shift.
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
