Role Summary: The Medical Assistant Certified I collaborates closely with a team of healthcare providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is vital in maintaining a supportive and efficient medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Escort patients to examination rooms and obtain vital signs.
  • Review and reconcile pertinent patient information and history prior to appointments.
  • Administer diagnostic tests and physician-approved procedures, including immunizations.
  • Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
  • Update the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) with relevant patient information.
  • Manage patient appointments, answer calls, and follow up with families professionally.
  • Participate in ongoing site-specific and clinic-wide initiatives.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and huddles.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information at all times.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and problem-solving skills during patient interactions.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependable attendance.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with 6-12 months of experience in a clinical setting or relevant coursework from an accredited vocational school. Medical assistant certification or license is preferred (CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, EMT, or LPN). If not currently certified, obtaining medical assistant credentials within six months of hire is necessary. CPR and basic life support certifications are also required.
