Senior Mechanical Engineer

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering Practice, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality projects and providing technical leadership to our team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope
• Supervise production of design computations
• Supervise and/or prepare and compile contract plans, specifications, and estimates
• Attend meetings with clients
• Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program or equivalent professional experience
• Professional Engineer License
• 12+ years' experience in specialized discipline
• Proficient in discipline specific design software
Preferred Qualifications:
• 20+ years' experience working with federal, state, and/or county agencies
• Experience managing multidiscipline project teams
• Project management and business development experience
• Experience with multiple project delivery methods i.e. Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3
• Familiarity with aviation and federal work is a plus
Working Conditions:
The majority of work is performed within a general office environment with opportunities for hybrid/remote work. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
