Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Housing Resource Specialist to join our team at AYA Youth Collective. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in helping young people transition out of homelessness and into stable housing quickly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Service Plans

Work with program participants to eliminate barriers to housing stability, including employment, increasing income, addressing mental/physical health, transportation, childcare, and community engagement.

Conduct Comprehensive Assessments

Conduct thorough assessments of clients to understand their specific needs, barriers, and resources.

Secure Safe and Affordable Housing

Assist clients in identifying suitable housing options within their budget and preferences, and cultivate relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing providers to secure safe and affordable housing for clients.

Provide Guidance and Support

Provide guidance on accessing rental assistance programs, subsidies, and other financial resources, and support clients in creating and managing budgets to ensure they can sustain their housing once re-housed.

Facilitate Workshops and Education

Facilitate workshops at AYA Youth Collective that educate youth on housing searches, budgeting, tenant/landlord rights and responsibilities.

Advocate and Connect Clients

Advocate for clients to access necessary support systems and connect them with appropriate community resources, and address crises or challenges that may arise during the housing process.

Maintain Accurate Records

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including assessments, case notes, and progress reports.

Compile Data and Reporting

Compile data on re-housing outcomes and program effectiveness for reporting to funders, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience

BSW or similar degree, or commensurate experience, and 2+ years case management, counseling, or related experience.

Skills and Knowledge

Understanding of community agencies and resources that serve at-risk populations, and experience working with diverse populations.

Additional Requirements

Ability to work some non-traditional hours, and ability to pass all required background checks.
