We are currently seeking a Pediatric Physical Therapist Assistant to enhance our expanding team of early intervention professionals. In this role, you will deliver gross motor therapy for children from birth to 18 years. The Therapist Assistant will implement treatment strategies established by the supervising physical therapist for children receiving care in Pediatric Therapy. Services will be provided in both clinical and community settings.

Compensation

Pay: Hourly; commensurate with experience
Job Type: Part-Time

Key Responsibilities
  1. Execute individualized treatment programs for each child based on the goals outlined in the treatment plan developed by the Physical Therapist.
  2. Formulate strategies and techniques for home programs while providing tailored treatment directly to each child.
  3. Collaborate as a member of a transdisciplinary team, engaging with professionals from various disciplines.
  4. Maintain individual documentation as required for state Early Intervention Program and insurance reimbursement.
  5. Draft progress notes for each child, detailing behavioral objectives and observations from each session.
  6. Participate in supervisory meetings with the Physical Therapist as necessary to fulfill licensing and certification requirements.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Illinois.
  • Familiarity with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • A valid Illinois driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Current proof of automobile insurance is necessary.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is frequently required to sit on various surfaces, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; manipulate fine motor toys with children; and communicate with both adults and children, some of whom may be challenging to understand. The employee may occasionally need to climb, taste, or smell. Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 20 pounds is required, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
