Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will perform professional level financial accounting and reporting activities. Prepares reports and financial documents, performs revenue and expense analysis, reconciles data to the general ledger, is an integral part of the budget process, and performs other related duties as assigned. All work must be accomplished following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including the Annual Report, and perform revenue and expense analysis.
  • General Ledger Reconciliation: Reconcile data to the general ledger and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Budget Process: Participate in the budget process and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to junior accountants and assist in the development of new procedures and workflows.
  • Research and Analysis: Research and analyze new accounting pronouncements and determine their impact on EPB financials.
  • Team Leadership: Serve as a team leader on special projects and provide guidance and support to team members.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with successful completion of a minimum of 24 semester hours of accounting courses.
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Strong qualitative, quantitative, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a team environment.
  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Strong and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, process, analyze and organize large quantities of detailed information into logical, concise reports and/or presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to obtain proficiency in the use of computerized software and office equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in processing data with high speed and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in situations involving various duties, often characterized by frequent changes.
