We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food and Nutrition Education Program Specialist to join our team at the State of South Carolina. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing nutrition education programs for limited resource families, conducting food demonstrations and activities, and recruiting clients for our programs.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement nutrition education programs for limited resource families, including food demonstrations and activities.
- Recruit clients for our programs and conduct outreach activities in targeted communities.
- Assess participants' nutritional needs and make referrals to appropriate resources in the community.
- Collect and compile program data for reporting purposes.
- Participate in all required in-service training and travel as needed.
- High School Graduate or GED with at least 3 years work experience beyond high school or 2-year college or vocational/technical school, preferred.
- 2 years' work experience in food and nutrition or related areas.
- Ability to be creative and innovative in educational programming.
- Experience and ability in working with small and large groups, schools, etc.
- Public speaking and writing skills required.
- Able to communicate effectively in English.
