Job Overview

The Air Cargo Pricing Specialist plays a crucial role within the Americas Air Team, focusing on the preparation and strategic oversight of air pricing for Global RFQs across the Americas. This position also provides support for Global RFQs originating from other regions. Additionally, the role involves contributing to various Americas Air programs and initiatives through effective project management and the creation of communication materials.

Key Responsibilities

Coordination of Global Air RFQs

  • Examine RFQ documentation to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Identify potential opportunities, risks, and challenges associated with pricing.
  • Conduct data analysis utilizing Excel and Power BI tools.
  • Engage with sales, account management, air product teams, and other stakeholders at different organizational levels.
  • Collaborate with team members to formulate a comprehensive pricing strategy.
  • Manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Follow up on the outcomes of RFQs.

Execution of RFQs

  • Transform customer data formats using advanced Excel functions.
  • Integrate pricing based on established tools and strategies.
  • Maintain communication with field teams and keep the pricing department informed of progress.
  • Compile rate responses from various branches into standardized pricing templates.
  • Audit responses to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Adhere to the Documentation Retention Policy throughout the process.

General Pricing Support

  • Regularly update the RFQ Pricing Tool database.
  • Maintain RFQ tools, including local charges and ATA tariffs as required.
  • Actively participate in and support pricing-related projects.
  • Manage RFQ workflows and proactively communicate with account management regarding upcoming bids.

Support for Americas Air Programs

  • Oversee project timelines, track deliverables, and update relevant documentation.
  • Prepare necessary documents and communication materials to aid in the development of regional air programs.
Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Manager of Air Cargo Pricing & Program Management for the Americas.

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Familiarity with air cargo operations, including pricing, carrier management, and routing (preferred).
  • Understanding of Expeditors' service offerings.

Skills

  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail while managing extensive data sets.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proactive and well-organized.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to listen and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to connect with global employees across all levels.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (reporting, formatting, data modeling).
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI is a plus.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Skills in media and communications development are advantageous but not required.
