Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Somerville, Massachusetts.
This is a part-time position, working 24 hours per week, with a shift of 8 hours, nights.
Key Responsibilities- Perform chemical tests on patient specimens to provide vital information to medical staff for diagnostic or interpretive purposes.
- Operate and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment, including centrifuges and automated blood analyzers.
- Measure specimens and/or reagents quantitatively using pipettes, making necessary dilutions in accordance with standard procedures.
- Prepare reagents and controls used in conducting blood and urine tests.
- Record all results of tests per procedure and operate computer terminals to enter and retrieve pertinent laboratory information and reports.
- Communicate effectively with all laboratory and hospital staff, patients, and outside locations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Science and certification eligible.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
