Multidisciplined Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Multidisciplined Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) Simulator Engineering (PSE) unit, you will be responsible for designing, producing, testing, and delivering PPTT components and modules.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering and science, with experience in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Program. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met, perform design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers, and review and disposition Supplier design submittals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct independent work efforts throughout the project lifecycle
- Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are being met
- Perform design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers
- Review and disposition Supplier design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements
- Support on-site hardware inspections and testing of production equipment at Supplier facilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 9 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 7 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part II qualified; or qualified SIT and 3 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Currently or previously CRE qualified; or 6 years as SRE; or SRE qualified and 9 years of experience
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Program
- Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software
- Experience evaluating, and creating, designs against approved technical requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to think creatively and to proactively make recommendations to management
- Comfortable working independently or in a group setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Pay Range: $103,000.00 - $161,100.00 annually
Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.
FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations.
