Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor (union title: Chief Engineer) to oversee our maintenance operations. This role is essential in ensuring that our residential properties are maintained to the highest standards, fostering a welcoming environment for our residents.

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for managing a dedicated maintenance team at a large apartment complex. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and coordinating maintenance tasks to ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Being available for emergency repairs during nights and weekends as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Collaborating with property management to develop training programs for maintenance staff.
  • Implementing preventive maintenance strategies to enhance property safety and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance within residential buildings.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Completion of SEIU Training Program is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain UPCS Inspections Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Office.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with various maintenance tools and machinery.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting work.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Commitment to safety and the ability to perform diverse tasks as needed.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and appliances.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a requirement.
  • Possession of personal hand tools and a valid driver's license.
