We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer to join our Operations team at FreshDirect. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving process improvements and scheduling initiatives to optimize our distribution schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Optimization: Utilize data analytics and modeling techniques to identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction within the function.
  • Scheduling and Optimization: Develop and implement scheduling algorithms and methodologies to optimize distribution schedules.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate strong continuous improvement knowledge and application of toolkit.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Develop and ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Project Support: Support plant and transport project improvement initiatives.
  • Change Management: Lead and drive the change process.
  • Process Improvement: Work with partner and SME (subject matter experts) to identify and resolve any concerns related to the processes and systems.
  • System Change Management: Be the operations representative for system change management.
  • Flexible Schedule: Flexible schedule and availability during critical times and peaks of the year including project roll out periods.
  • Efficient Solutions: Design and implement efficient solutions including but not limited to capacity, productivity, quality and service.
  • Project Management: Collect and analyze data to quantify and validate process improvements. Manage projects from start to finish, including cost justification, project planning, execution, training, and go-live support.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and lead individuals who are not direct reports.
  • Project Management: Comfortable juggling and coordinating multiple projects across several channels simultaneously.
  • Dynamic Environment: Enjoy operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment under time constraints.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree: Enrolled in a Master's degree program (industrial engineering or related field).
  • Union Environment: Experience working in a union environment.
  • Automated Systems: Experience working with an automated system.
  • WMS and SAP: Experience with WMS, SAP, data analysis & SQL.
  • Operations Experience: Experience in operations, logistics, warehousing or manufacturing.
  • Communication Skills: Able to write for and work with a wide range of audiences, from executives to line workers.
