Third Assistant Engineer for the Ship Empire State VII

SUNY Maritime College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Third Assistant Engineer to join our team on the TS Empire State VII. As a member of our crew, you will be responsible for maintaining the ship's equipment, performing inventory control, and participating in vessel operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Work as directed by the vessel's First A/E and Chief Engineer
- Perform maintenance as required of the NSMV's developed preventative Maintenance plan
- Stand Watch as needed when the vessel is operating during Training Cruise and/or activation as a 3rd Assistant Engineer - Motor
- Perform mechanical and welding repairs
- Actively participate in vessel SM
- Supervise and instruct cadets during the academic year and Training Cruise
- Minimum Licenses of Third Assistant Motors Unlimited HP or higher
- 3 years industry experience on Motor vessels
- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline of Engineering
- Active MMCSTCW certification with appropriate endorsements required by today's standard
- TWIC
- Passport
- Valid Drug Card
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of the maritime industry
- Working familiarization with Power Management systems
- Upper level USCG Engineers license, and minimum 2 years sailing experience
