Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Registration Representative to join our healthcare team at CommonSpirit Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Accurately and efficiently register patients for medical services, verifying patient information and insurance coverage.
  • Obtain necessary information, such as medical history, medications, and allergies, and enter it correctly into the electronic health record.
  • Assist patients in filling out necessary paperwork and collect copays and outstanding balances at the time of service.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the appropriate care.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, or other revenue cycle related roles.
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Fire Safety certification required (obtain within 90 days of hire date).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Able to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation.
  • Experience in requesting and processing financial payments.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Knowledge of charity care programs and government/non-government programs.
