Serco is dedicated to supporting transportation initiatives aimed at optimizing traffic management and enhancing collaboration with partners to effectively respond to roadway incidents.

Our success relies on a skilled and well-prepared team of TOC Specialists.

Key Responsibilities:


Utilize advanced traffic management software to oversee and control field technologies, including surveillance cameras, electronic message boards, ramp control systems, and other components of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).


Monitor visual feeds to identify and confirm incidents such as debris, abandoned vehicles, and spills.

Log verified incidents, as well as construction and maintenance road closures, using the traffic management system.


Employ GPS-based software to track the locations of assistance vehicles, directing them to areas in need of support.


Communicate and coordinate with assistance units via radio or phone, providing precise directions and incident descriptions as relayed by public safety officials or departmental staff.


Engage with law enforcement, emergency services, and towing companies to relay accurate information regarding incidents and required responses.


Maintain communication with departmental personnel statewide, including maintenance and construction teams, to share vital information about incidents, traffic conditions, and construction activities.

Input maintenance requests for malfunctioning ITS equipment.


Ensure compliance with communication protocols and regulations established by the department and federal authorities.


Receive and relay information regarding damage to the transportation infrastructure from law enforcement and other agencies.


Facilitate the activation of emergency alerts as directed by authorized personnel and ensure timely communication of these alerts.


Collaborate with local agencies and towing services to manage and resolve traffic incidents efficiently.


Support operations during emergencies and special events, including severe weather and high-traffic occurrences.

Document potential and confirmed incidents, as well as construction and maintenance closures, using the traffic management system.

Monitor weather conditions that may impact traffic and take necessary actions to communicate updates.

Provide assistance to motorists and departmental personnel regarding traffic and road conditions, directing inquiries to the appropriate teams as needed.


Maintain accurate records, logging essential information, conducting equipment checks, and updating manuals and contact lists.

Participate in ongoing training and performance evaluations as required.


Engage in traffic management operations, incident response, and customer service tasks that align with project objectives.


Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

High School diploma.

0–2 years of relevant experience in customer support or a related field within the last three years.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Proficient English language skills for clear and concise communication, both written and verbal.

Willingness to complete and succeed in a comprehensive training program.

This role is contingent upon passing a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
