Position Overview:

The IT Business Analyst at Spartan Corp will play a pivotal role in identifying and documenting business needs, transforming these needs into both functional and technical specifications, and engaging with various IT stakeholders to facilitate project objectives. This position requires close collaboration with the OIT Portfolio Manager, solution engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure effective project initiation and delivery.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Compliance and Documentation:

Adhere to established law enforcement policies and procedures.

Accurately document and diagram IT environments.

Maintain familiarity with CMDB and application portfolio management tools.

Complete necessary onboarding and fingerprinting as mandated.

2. Project Initiation and Stakeholder Engagement:

Support the OIT Portfolio Manager during the initial phases of projects, including discovery and initiation.

Work alongside project stakeholders to develop comprehensive requirements and assist in solution engineering.

Limit the time allocated for high-level estimates and impact assessments to 15 hours during the project rationalization phase.

3. Interviewing and Requirements Gathering:

Lead interviews with diverse IT stakeholders to gather insights.

Engage with stakeholders to comprehend business cases and extract requirements.

Consult with solution engineers to ensure alignment and clarity of requirements.

4. Process Improvement and Documentation:

Collect business requirements from users and convert them into functional and technical specifications.

Document business processes and offer recommendations for best practices.

Participate in enterprise-level project teams to identify and implement enhancements to processes and systems.

5. Project Management and Support:

Effectively manage customer expectations and communicate the status of ongoing projects.

Track the backlog of requests and collaborate with customers to prioritize these for future projects.

Engage in project teams to ensure that implementations meet business needs and optimize process and system integration.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Business IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

A minimum of 7 years of experience as a business analyst with a focus on enterprise applications and IT systems.

Demonstrated experience in requirements elicitation and testing.

Strong skills in writing SQL queries and generating process documentation.

Expertise in business processes related to Accounting and Billing, Finance/Controlling, HR/Benefits/Payroll, Procurement, Contract Management, Quality Assurance, and Legal/Regulatory.

Experience in developing business cases, gathering requirements, conducting gap analysis, process mapping, and solution design.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Proven success as a business analyst, with the capability to facilitate discussions and build consensus.

Proficiency in tools such as Visio and PowerPoint for creating workflow diagrams and process flows.
