Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain high-quality patient care.
  • Perform physical exams, health histories, and provide health promotions, counseling, and education to patients.
  • Administer medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions as needed.
  • Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare professionals, including LPNs/LVNs and nursing assistants.
  • Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people to inform the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
  • Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement and safety.
  • Ability to effectively utilize an electronic health record and other software applications to document assessments, interventions, and evaluation of patients' plans of care.
  • Maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
  • Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
  • Practice aseptic techniques as necessary and comply with infection control guidelines.
  • Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures.
  • Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
  • Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions.
  • Notify supervisor, leadership, or other designated person regarding problems that the HCW is unable to manage.
Requirements
  • Minimum ADN from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 1 year relevant and recent experience after graduation.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license from any state.
  • AHA or ARC BLS Certification.
  • Ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
