Retail Store Management Trainee
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Full Time Store Manager Trainee in the Kansas City Metro area. As a Store Manager Trainee, you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations and performance of the team to provide the highest level of customer service. You will also be responsible for understanding the overarching company strategy and communicating and modeling the core values of the organization to create a sense of teamwork and membership among employees.
Duties:
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the store to ensure excellent customer service.
- Understand and communicate the company strategy and core values to employees.
- Handle customer concerns and ensure a resolution.
- Ensure proper store signage and product quality.
- Assist in the hiring process by reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates.
- Prepare and manage weekly schedules to ensure adequate staffing.
- Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
- Conduct store meetings and identify training opportunities for employees.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend promotions or terminations as necessary.
- Achieve store payroll and total loss budgets.
- Manage cash audits and monitor the competitive environment.
- Provide product feedback and recommendations to the direct leader.
- Ensure a safe work environment by identifying and rectifying hazards.
- Oversee product merchandising and maintain proper stock levels.
- Conduct store inventory counts and reconciliations.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Must be available to work 50+ hours per week.
- Ability to handle physical activity to maintain store operations.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.
- Prior management experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of inventory control practices.
- Familiarity with cash register operations is a plus.
