Key Responsibilities
  • Sanitation and Cleaning: Responsible for thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including patient rooms, floors, and ancillary areas. This includes dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Organizational Skills: Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Infection Prevention: Observes all isolation procedures and infection prevention standards, including the use of correct chemicals for different pathogens.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintains EVS closet, EVS cart, and all equipment in a neat and orderly manner, reporting any safety hazards or equipment in need of repair to supervisor and/or Facilities.
  • Supply Management: Replenishes paper, soap supplies, and hand sanitizer as needed.
  • Special Projects: Assists with special projects, including coordinating with affected departments and posting informational signs.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Moves furniture, supplies, and equipment as requested, adhering to departmental safety and lifting procedures.
  • Chemical Management: Responsible for properly mixing and storing chemicals to achieve the correct dilution ratio, using proper personal protective equipment when needed.
  • Bed Making: Makes beds in accordance with specific area needs, utilizing bed tracking phone/pager and EPIC system.
  • Waste Management: Properly handles, transports, and disposes of all waste types, including hazardous, infectious, sharps, confidential, recycling, regular trash, and universal waste.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Previous cleaning experience helpful.
Physical Demands

This is considered very heavy work, requiring the ability to stand, walk, finger, handle, feel, grasp, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms. The partner is regularly required to sit and talk or hear, and frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, twist, bend, crouch, or crawl.
