Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to patients undergoing renal dialysis treatments and supporting administrative functions under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform direct care to patients undergoing renal dialysis treatments, including preparing and monitoring equipment used for hemodialysis.
  • Assist with administrative support functions, such as drafting letters and assisting with completion of forms.
  • Provide clinical support to licensed healthcare professionals during examinations and procedures, including preparing laboratory specimens and performing testing.
  • Document and capture charges for clinical support services rendered within the patient visit.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • Certified as a Patient Care Dialysis Technician by a State Agency or Nationally Recognized Certification Program within 18 months of hire date.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Working Conditions

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping/traveling, and repetitive motion. The employee may be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
